Flipp Review
I’m pathetic with cellphones and “app” skills… But when I recently went to Walmart with stack of price-matching flyers in tow, the cashiers kind of chuckled at me and said “why don’t you just get Flipp?”
I love this FREE application so much now, I had to share a Flipp review!
WHAT’S FLIPP? Say Goodbye to stacks of flyers
Flipp is a FREE smartphone “app” used to save money when shopping (it turns price matching, flyer searches, coupons +more into a walk in the park!)
Install the app, set it to your location (it will prompt you to do a postal code search when first installed) and Flipp will display all local flyers for your area, from then on.
When you open the app, it will be the main “all flyer” screen. Browse the flyers, when you see something you want to price match just tap on it, Flipp will encircle the item in yellow and store it under your “Clippings”. If you love that store and shop there all the time, you can add it to your favorites list by tapping the white heart in the top, right corner.
Finally, when you’re shopping and get to the cash, bring up your “Clippings” you saved in Flipp and show them to the cashier. The cashier will override the price and match it to what Flipp shows… Instant presto, you are saving money!
HOW TO USE FLIPP IN STORE? Search & save the fast way
For Canada, not many stores price match but Walmart, No Frills, and the Canadian Superstore are two you can use this app at (Sobey’s claim to, but they denied me when I tried… ruthless)
Be organized, don’t be that reject at the cash in a mess holding up every other shopper trying to manage your Flipp VS store price items. To simplify your life, keep your Flipp “price match” items at the back of your cart and regular priced items at the front.
Then when unloading your groceries, it’s easy to keep your Flipp items separate. When the cashier is closing-in on your Flipp items, warn them (if not, they can speed through it, and you’re left in the dust…)
Finally, phone in hand- tell the cashier the new, lower price of your items thanks to Flipp. Most cashiers are awesome and don’t even ask to see your phone. Some are more anal and have to see every single item on your phone (annoying yes… but if it’s gonna save you money- winning!)
If you’re a fan of “organic” foods, I love popping-in that word into the search field, quickly I can scan all the best on sale items for everything that’s green and clean. Flipp can be used in ways that truly caters to your shopping needs, you just need to play around with it a bit.
HOW TO FIND THE BEST PRICE MATCHES ON FLIPP
When Flipp opens (main screen featuring all flyers) there is a little magnifying glass (top right corner). Click on the magnifying glass to search “all” flyers for one item. Example- let’s say you need toilet paper – type in “toilet paper” in the seach bar.
Flipp will search all flyers for you and show you every last dang toilet paper brand, sale, size from all stores/flyers. From here you can pick the cheapest, best brand, you name it. I use the “search” function all the time, especially if I am running in for just one item – search it first, pick the best price match and save!
SAVE THOUSANDS WITHOUT BEING A VET COUPON-ER
I admire those who collect coupons, but it’s too tedious for my brain (I find coupons in Canada suck too compared to the USA, there’s always fine print…) Flipp is seriously the solution. Gone are the days of black newpaper fingers, paper hoarding, and clipping. I don’t even look at my paper flyers anymore, I just use Flipp. It’s quicker, easier to access, and the seach function alone has changed the way I shop.
Flipp has a bunch of other functions too: choosing favourites lists, coupon searches, shopping lists- I’m really just skimming it’s benefits.
