Guide to “Benefit Cosmetics” Blushes

Guide to “Benefit Cosmetics” Blushes

Benefit Cosmetics have mastered the art of creating quality, creative, perfect blushes better than any other I’ve tried. They last long, they work, and they stay on all day.

I love the perfect little boxes they come in and the clever marketing that draws me in every time I visit Sephora- but which one to buy? It gets me every time so here’s my take on a guide to “Benefit Cosmetics” blushes…

Benefit Blushes

Benefit Blushes

Benefit Cosmetics have 8 blushes to choose from. The goal of this guide is to break down each blush to better understand what purpose they serve. It’s better than walking into the store guns a blazing and leaving with the wrong one.

HOOLA:

Hoola Benefit Blush

Hoola Benefit Blush

(I sit in the sun everyday blush)

The name says it all… This blush is a straight dark brown matte bronzer. No sparkle, no shimmy, no extras- it’s just perfect to get that tanned glowing look naturally. Hoola is not too dark either so you can apply lots on without looking like a hot orange mess. For all Canadians hibernating in the winter, this is the best fake tan trick all winter long.

DALLAS:

Dallas Benefit Blush

(Look mom my tan is glowing blush)

If HOOLA is just too matte for your likes and you need a twinkle of fairy dust in your blush then Dallas is the answer. A beautiful bronzer that shimmers too. This quality bronzer should be on every diva’s list. This is a high quality product that delivers by giving cheeks an authentic glowing tan fit for a cowboy.

DANDELION:

Dandelion Benefit Blush

Dandelion Benefit Blush

(A not too much make-up for me blush)

This blush is perfect for the subtle make-up lovers- the “au-naturel looks”. If you have a darker complexion, or like the tan look- skip Dandelion. It’s very light, making it harder to show through but delivers an impeccable soft pretty pink. Nice for the afternoon look, nothing over the top. Its matte and not screaming for attention.

For my dark complexion when it failed as a blush it made-up for as a highlighter. A final sweep of Dandelion on finished makeup can really help it pop.

CORALISTA:

Coralista Benefit Blush

Coralista Benefit Blush

(A salsa meringue type blush)

This blush smells like flowers. Not sure if that’s awesome but it does. It’s a pearly, shimmery, bright- coral pink. Think of a beautiful coral bead necklace in blush form. It’s very light and needs to be applied with caution- don’t load it on or you’ll look like a sophisticated lobster.

BELLA BAMBA:

Bella Bamba Benefit Blush

Bella Bamba Benefit Blush

(Bam! Pink – Bam! blush)

If you want to brighten up your face using watermelon pink- this is it! It’s loud and proud- the exact opposite of Dandelion. It shimmers on your cheeks and again you don’t need much to go a long way. More of a melon meets pink chandelier color. Great for nights out or to highlight the tops of your cheeks as a blush booster.

ROCKATEUR:

Rockateur Benefit Blush

Rockateur Benefit Blush

(Cheeky rock n’ roll gold blush)

Your eyes will be immediately drawn to this blush first cause it practically glows beautiful pink gold.

It’s the perfect blend of pink, bronze, and shinny- how a genius figured out this blend is beyond me but this blush is truly gifted. Great for anytime of the day and for going out since it adds that extra sheen, and life to your face. Reach for this blush anytime you want to add some luxe to your cheek bones.

SUGARBOMB:

Sugarbomb Benefit Blush

Sugarbomb Benefit Blush

(Explosive flowery pink bomb blush)

This blush is as if a few Benefit blushes came together and had babies. There’s a blend of 4 different tones in one: rose/peach/shimmering pink/plum.

Put them all together and you get a delicious deep sugar rush of quality shiny rose tones. It’s less dark than Rockateur but not as “in your face” pink as Coralista or Bella Bamba. A perfect shimmery pink that will glow on any type of complexion. A clever balance of colors makes this facial powder one that you’ll reach for every morning to wake your cheeks up.

HERVANA:

Hervana Benefit Blush

Hervana Benefit Blush

(Pearly circles of high beams blush)

A kaleidoscope of white pearl shells, sweet peach, subtle rose, and berries have come together to form this blush. The colors swirl together and when mixed it really works leaving behind a soft and shinning finish. It’s very similar to if you were using Benefit’s product “High Beam” but in blush form. On your cheekbones and temples Hervana is a perfect accent of pearly pure pinks.
