Nova Scotia Fisherman Review
Nova Scotia Fisherman Review
It’s always exciting when a company contacts me for a review, but when they’re Canadian too! I can’t deny the pride lol.
Welcome my Nova Scotia Fisherman Review! A skincare company, that cares about your skin and wholesome ingredients. Their entire line (soaps, lotions, lip balms…) is safe for your family and home.
I’d recently seen this company for sale at my local organic grocery store (Rainbow Foods). Displayed as clever “buckets of skincare” for sale. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to test them out.
Nova Scotia Fisherman product highlights:
Made in Canada
No parabens, phthalates
No animal testing
No animal ingredients
No artificial fragrances
I was given 4 treats for this Nova Scotia Fisherman Review, including:
Naturally Moisturizing Hand & Body Cream
Extreme Lip Care (lip balm)
Sea Fennel Bayberry (soap bar)
Fundy Clay & Mint (soap bar)
Naturally Moisturizing Hand & Body Cream
Yup, “kelp” as in seaweed! Canadian ocean cultivated green weeds for your skin. Believe it or not, kelp is loaded with benefits. I found this great breakdown on their site
TAKEN FROM NOVASCOTIAFISHERMAN.com
This lotion is everything you’d expect from a good, “go-to” skin fix. Creamy white, smells great, and doesn’t have any greasy feel.
I’m plagued with very sensitive skin *eczema prone, dry etc… It takes a good, clean lotion on my skin to not cause a break-out. NS Fisherman’s Hand & Body Cream only made my body and hands feel and smell fresh. No negative reactions at all. This is a clear message from my skin- that this cream contains no negative ingredients. Only pure, soothing skin care.
Fisher-Mint Lip Balm (Extreme Lip Care…)
Ingredients: Beeswax*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Shea Butter*, Coconut Oil*, Castor Oil*, Grape Seed Oil*, Olive Oil*, Rosemary Leaf Extract*, Peppermint Oil, Agave*, Vitamin E, Spearmint Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Lecithin*, Lavender Oil (*means organic)
This beeswax-based, cute chapstick was my fav item out of the lot. Don’t expect this stuff to taste or smell like artificial, toxic bubblegum or berries. It’s 100% natural, and scented using only essential oils (rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, eucalyptus…)
I loved the tube, it’s easy to push up and environmentally friendly. I used this stuff on my lips day and night. It really does the job well and I love the taste of peppermint it leaves behind.
Nova Scotia Fisherman Review – SOAPS
Hand poured, cold process soap that rejuvenates skin. Vegan too!
Infused with powerful Nova Scotia Sea Kelp
No animal testing, no petroleum based ingredients and paraben free
Handmade using premium ingredients
When I shower I like a good ol’ bar of soap (no gel, juice, foam, whatever..) That’s just what you’re getting here. I was given 2 different soap bars to try:
Fundy Clay Mint bar is minty, so it feels fresh and great for groggy mornings. It foams-up just enough and the clay contained inside helps detoxify your skin.
The “Sea Fennel & Bayberry” bar smells like a light, spicy, berry. I preferred this one, while my boyfriend who steals my products all the time, snagged the “Fundy Clay & Mint” bar before I could lay claim lol. Definitely refreshing, lasted long, and gentle enough to use on my face.
Cold-pressed soaps are always my top and only pick when it comes to getting clean.
After this Nova Scotia Fisherman Review experience, I’d buy these soaps again – no complaints.
Part of “Nature Conservancy Canada”
Every time you buy from this company- a portion of the sale will go to Nature Conservancy Canada. Nova Scotia Fisherman (actually owned by an uncle & a nephew) holds a special place in their hearts for this agency.
Each share the same values: “working to protect Canadian landscape and our province’s natural treasures”, now that’s a pretty stellar mandate I stand behind too!
Conclusion – Nova Scotia Fisherman Review
Nova Scotia Fisherman is a small company, created by 2 men making soy candles. It’s quickly grown into a nationally recognized “organic skincare” brand.
New Wave Therapy !
Not everyone has the skills to properly manufacture skincare using “kelp”! Adding mineral rich seaweed to their formulas, really sets Nova Scotia Fisherman apart. It’s also one of the main reasons I wanted to try them.
Proud to tip my hat to this company! Not only because they care about the environment, but they also care about what you’re putting on your skin. I can firmly preach, everything I reviewed worked great!

Sweet bucket haha! Those bar soaps sound great (I know we love our soaps!) and I love that lip balm packaging! In appearance it reminds me of this Swedish stuff called Hudsalva (which I have yet to try). Lovely post, I love a good body care haul! <3
I saw that brand recently at Winner & wanted to try it too! I know the bucket was too cute, I seriously almost bought it before they even contacted me. Thanks for being awesome & commenting Mercy 🙂 Ur one of my fav bloggers for real! LOL
YOU ARE TOO SWEET! Thank you so much Ang, you’re one of my fave bloggers! <333
Thank you for your review. I would like to know if these skin care products contain any soy at all. Thank you for your kindness and your reply
Hey Elizabeth, thanks for checking out this Canadian brand 🙂 I did confirm YES they got soy in their soap… Hope this helps xo
